While completing her Bachelor of Arts (Sociology) at the University of Toronto, Cheri began her marketing career at Gametronics Gaming Equipment. A pioneer in the field of touch-screen gaming software and hardware, this new venture taught her much about developing a launch marketing strategy for a global audience. As Marketing Director she gained a firm grasp on all marketing channels from trade advertising to direct response.

 

Best achievement: Launching a new corporate brand and product offering that resulted in unprecedented sales demand within the first two years.

 

Next, she joined The UPS Store (formerly Mail Boxes Etc.). As National Marketing Manager she was responsible for maintaining the brand, and growing annual sales of 300 franchise locations across Canada. Balancing the needs of small business owners for practical marketing tools with the requirements of the national brand was excellent training to cultivate skills in collaboration, diplomacy and consensus building. Nurturing relationships with advertising agencies, consultants and corporate partners such as Xerox and Canada Post rounded out Cheri's ability to be effective in multiple settings - from boardroom to retail floor. 

 

Best achievements: 

  • Created partnerships with advisory councils to restructure and revitalize advertising co-operatives to ensure consistent brand messages and sustainable funding.

  • Managed a $2 million corporate advertising budget, resulting in 11% retail sales increases year-over-year,

  • Influenced franchise owners to ratify a new marketing fund that resulted in an additional 1% in royalty fees.

  • Championed the development of a broad public relations strategy that resulted in triple the total positive exposure via print and broadcast media.

 

 

Our Name and Logo

The name First Harvest speaks of our passion for growing companies. We nourish clients with fresh ideas, challenge them to set ambitious goals, and work alongside each other as we yield the results of our labour.

 

Our logo was designed in cooperation with Christian Papist. His original sketch of a weathervane represents our ability to help companies embark on a new direction, or to move more swiftly along their chosen path. The horse reminds us to be responsive and resilient in all we do.
