Supportive Housing

Home should be a safe, affordable place.
Supportive Housing
YWCA Durham owns and operates 55 McGrigor Street, a rent-geared-income apartment building in the heart of Oshawa. One, two and three bedroom apartments are available to single women and female-led families.
Outreach Services
A Housing Outreach Worker supports and helps women and families locate affordable housing in our building or within the community. Assistance is available for clarifying landlord and tenant's rights, completing applications for subsidized housing, landlord mediation, and referrals to other agencies, as well as for finding rental housing. Partnerships with other agencies allow the YWCA to provide on-site health care, parenting support through the Department of Health, Healthy Babies/Healthy Children Program, social assistance casework, and more for the women and children living in YWCA Housing.
