Starry Nights 2016 

 

On June 10, 2016, YWCA Durham will be hosting our 13th Annual Starry Nights dinner, dance & auction to raise much needed funds for our Y's WISH Shelter. This fun-filled evening is both a celebration of our role in Saving Lives, Changing Lives of women and children escaping abuse, and a vital part of our sustainability.

 

This year, our need continues to grow:
 

• Our Y's WISH emergency shelter operates at over-capacity year round

• Our Crisis Line rang 832 times in 2015 by women experiencing physical, sexual, emotional and financial abuse by intimate partners and family members

• One in 3 women in our community is affected by violence each day
